Got sick of the heat, so I thought I'll try the cold for a change
I finally made the big move. Well, at least for the next 24 months, I will be based in London, and after that who knows.

Flowers, flowers and more flowers
Now I understand why Holland is the land of tulips.... miles and miles... as far as the eye can see... TULIPS... of all different colours.
Sorry - you'll just have to imagine it for the time being. I'm at the BA lounge again and I won't be able to upload any pictures until I get to Bangkok.
I went to the Keukenhof gardens while I was in Amsterdam. Everyone tells me how beautiful they are, so I thought I'll go check it out since I'm there. The gardens were wonderful for flower lovers.
It was really funny though.. cause the average age of the people who were there was probably 50+ (and I think my friend and I brought the average down significantly). Does this mean that the younger generation do not enjoy flowers (?) or they just won't bother travelling miles out of Amsterdam just to see flowers - when there are flowers just about every where you turn around in the city.
To be honest - if left to me, I may not travel there specifically there to look at flowers. I went there more for my mother (sounds strange?). Mom really loves flowers and she always wanted to go see the tulips, but she's never here at the right time. So I was instructed to take as many pictures as possible. I think I may have taken close to 180 and my friend took another 200+ - you reckon she'll be pleased with that? I also bought her a DVD of the gardens.

Off a-wondering again
Hello there. Why is it that I only seem to update my blog when I'm waiting for my flight at Heathrow? This time has got to be the earliest yet... 5am!
So here's what's been happening since the beginning of 2007.
1 - Reunion dinner with Tina, Sook, Yun-Qi, Lisa and Anton
For Chinese New Year, we decided that we would each cook something at Lisa and Sook's place. We got tired of fighting with people in the restaurants in Chinatown. I invited Yun-Qi who is over here on a 18-month secondment to join us. I made Mom's vegetarian dish and everyone loved it.
2 - Working like a dog.
The bosses decided that they wanted to issue the courses earlier this year, so I have been really busy right up till the end of March. At one point, I didn't step out of my flat for a whole week as I was working noon to midnight to coordinate with my team in the States. Oh the relief when I finally posted the announcement to release those courses....(hence why you have not heard much from me)
3 - Visited the "Count"
I took the first week of April off to visit my friend Angela in Romania. This time she took into into Transylvania. We travelled over the mountains by train. It was a lovely sight as there was still quite a bit of snow over the mountain tops. At one point of the journey, it even started snowing pretty heavily. I almost thought I could make my snowman, but alas, we didn't stop long enough for me to do that and when we finally got off at Brasov - there wasn't any snow there.
4 - Saved by the scarf
My travel "tragedy" struck again. While I was in Brasov, someone tried to steal my wallet. A woman way-laid me as I got on the bus and her accompliance cut through my handbag. Luckily, I had placed my scraf in the bag which hampered his ability to get anything out of the bag. For a while I was sweating bullets cause I had my passport in the bag.
5 - Off to see the tulips
Today, I'm making my way to Amsterdam. I have to run a workshop there next week so I'm going over earlier to do some sight seeing. Since everyone raves about the tulips there, I thought I'll go see what's the fuss about. Mom is so jealous as she really loves flowers, but she can only come later - by which time, the flowers would no longer be in bloom. I have been instructed to take lots of pictures. We shall see.
Maybe the next time I update my blog, I'll be able to post some photos to share with you.
